FYI, I developed the StepMA (Stepped Moving Average) indicator in 2005. And now you can see it lives its own life in many variations.
Initially, it was based on the calculation of the average value of the maximum and minimum volatility (this is the old method). Over time I learned to calculate it using the current volatility (new method).
So now you can check out the updated StepMA with the latest set of prices and and all the extras I've been adding since the beginning.
